India is among the top ten countries that choose the United Kingdom for higher studies consistently with Indian students preferring the UK as their destination for studying abroad. The UK is a globally favoured destination for higher studies with 16 universities among the top 100 and 4 among the top 10 in the QS World University Rankings.

According to the QS World Ranking, the top five universities in the UK are:

• University of Cambridge,
• University of Oxford,
• University College of London,
• Imperial College of London, and
• King’s College London.

Study programs in UK usually offer a vocational training-infused curriculum for the holistic development of the students while some universities allow them to include customised modules in the coursework for developing professional expertise along with academics.

UCAS is a central university admission system through which students can apply for undergraduate courses in UK. The applications for postgraduate and research programs are conducted by the respective universities. Certain universities and courses in the UK allow students to apply through the UK Postgraduate Application and Statistical Service (UKPASS) Scheme where up to ten postgraduate courses can be applied for through one application.
