Members of Boston College Class of 2017 Receive Prestigious Fellowships

Nine members of the graduating class (2017) and three alumni from Boston College have received prestigious Fulbright awards that support a year's post-baccalaureate study abroad. The recipients generally pursue research in various disciplines or field of studies or serve as an English teaching assistant, which allows them to teach the English language along with providing insights about American culture. A graduating senior, Liam Maguire was also awarded the prestigious Fulbright award, but he declined it and decided to serve in the Peace Corps as an English teacher in Namibia.

Among other honors, Boston College students have received Winston Churchill Scholarship, a David L. Boren National Security Education Program Award, a Thomas R.
