University highlights
The University of Queensland (UQ), established in 1909, is a public research university of global repute. It is one of the oldest universities in Australia, popularly known as a sandstone university, a term of reference used to refer to the oldest institutions of tertiary education in the country. Offering myriad courses in multiple disciplines across all levels of higher education, UQ has its primary campus located in the beautiful city of Brisbane. It is a founding member of edX and is affiliated with the Group of Eight and Universitas 21.

Acommodation
The UQ has a varied range of accommodation options for the international students and the student affairs office in the university assists them in finding suitable residential arrangements. In addition to healthy meal plans for students from all countries, the facilities in the hostels and residential halls in UQ have all the utility amenities including phone, water, electricity, and Internet connectivity to name a few. Enabling overseas students to adapt quickly to the UQ way of life, the university arranges initiation sessions for all newcomers boarding at the residential halls and hostels on campus. Since the number of intake for on-campus accommodation is limited, the student affairs office also helps international students to look for and arrange off-campus accommodation. The annual rent (inclusive of meal and utility costs) for the residential halls and hostels in UQ is AU$ 34,800
