The NUS offers a varied range of comfortable student accommodation in on-campus and off-campus apartments or student residence halls and residential colleges. These fully furnished residential complexes are equipped with shared laundry and lounge facilities and include health meal plans suited to students of all nationalities. Students with special needs also have specially designed rooms for their convenience. The rooms can be rented on single-occupancy, or double occupancy basis and the students can choose from non-air conditioned or air-conditioned rooms. It is advisable to apply for an air-conditioned room due to the tropical climate of Singapore that some international students might find too warm at times. The rent for the international student residences at NUS includes the room rent, meal plans, and utility costs of water, gas, phone and Internet connectivity. The annual rent for 35 weeks (the minimum period of rent according to the academic calendar) at a student residence hall or residential college at NUS ranges from S$ 11,060 to S$ 15,575.
